Studio One Apartments will host a preview event on Feb. 7. Any 13-month lease signed on that day will include one month of free rent, making a trip to the sales trailer a potential money-saver.
The 124 apartments range in size from 650 to 1,000 square feet and in price from $870 to $1,395 per month. Features include at least one balcony per unit, floor-to-ceiling windows and individual heating and cooling systems for each unit with a tankless on-demand water heater.
As for construction goes, everything is on schedule for June 1 occupancy according to Marcel Burgler, principal of Grand Rapids-based Prime Development. The fifth floor was just erected and the roof will be installed this week. Window are going in and units are being built-out with electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
The building includes almost 30,000 square feet of retail space on its ground floor. 9,600 square feet of that space is leased by Fifth-Third Bank and another 6,700 is reserved, although lease negotiations continue. The retailers will start building out on April 1 with opening dates estimated to be Aug. 1.
Studio One is part of the $36 million South University Village development that also includes a WSU-developed parking structure with ground-floor retail.
The preview event will take place between 4 and 9 p.m. at the trailer located at the northeast corner of Cass and Canfield. Food from Slow's Bar B Q will be provided. RSVP to property manager Billie Mason-Smith.
